In 2001 and in their late thirties, Helene and Jean-Pierre Mucyn began their new life in the world of wine.

After studying wine in Beaune, they decided to set up in the North Rhone valley with their three daughters, in the heart of Crozes Hermitage Appellation.

Training of the Vine:

Our grapes come exclusively from our vines trained in the respect of environment.We make the operations of de-budding, thinning out the leaves, green harvest to obtain the best maturity. We spread some organic fertilizer We do not use insecticide.

Domain:

Situated 300 metres from the Rhône, this former relay for boatmen is 250 years old. The boatmen slept in the house while the horses were in the stables.

White wine is cellared under the house, premium cellar for maturing wine in barrel. The winery has been installed in the old stable and renovated in the respect of the architectural style.

The granite stone walls are 500 mm thick, new roof well insulated, covered in traditional canal tiles.thus keeping temperatures constant.

CROZES-HERMITAGE WHITE

Vintage 2004:

Great wine from single grape variety : Marsanne
Terroir : North of Crozes-Hermitage on south facing, calcareous slopes (silt)
Average age of the vines : 30 years
Yield : 45 hl/ha
Alcoholic fermentation in barrel at 16°C maximum for 3 to 4 weeks
Malo-lactic fermentation in barrel
Stirring of the lees
Matured during one year in barrel

Tasting:

Hand picking harvest.
Pale golden and limpid
Racking of the must
Floral perfume with nuances of hawthorn, acacia, nutty and fennel with toasted notes
Well balanced, fat, with a long finish

Can be enjoyed young but also be kept for a few years

Ideal with a starter or fresh water fish (trout, pike perch) #

CROZES-HERMITAGE ROUGE

Tasting:

Dark ruby robe with deep purple hues
Expressive and fruity nose, morello cherry with spicy notes and liquorice
Can be enjoyed young but also laid down for long periods.

Tasting:

Limpid and glossy yellow green
Bouquet of wild flowers, acacia and buttered almond with hints of apricots and plum
Rich and generous, with long lasting aromatic persistence
Can be enjoyed young, will also improve with age

Excellent as an appetiser or with grilled fish

SAINT-JOSEPH RED

Tasting:

Deep bright colour with deep purple hues
Subtle perfume of blackcurrant and blackberry, which with age will take on the nuance of liquorice and cocoa
Finesse, with a harmonious and supple body. Very good and long finish

A general impression of finesse and elegance Can be laid down for long periods but will be at its best after 4 or 5 years

To serve at 16C with game or quality red meats.

Vintage 2004:

Grape variety : 60% Syrah 40% Gamay
Terroir: Granite slopes in Ardeche

Average age of the vines : 25 years
Yield : 40 hl/ha

Tasting:

Deep colour with purple tint
Intense nose, with notes of red fruits red grapefruit
Mouth is rich with delicate tannins and a pleasant finish

Concentrated elegant wine Can be enjoyed young

Served with meat and soft cheese.
